We at Hum Honge Kamyab, a committed NGO empowering individuals with disabilities, were delighted to have hosted this event. Held at the CD Deshmukh Auditorium, India International Centre, Delhi, “Let’s KEO” provided a unique platform for attendees to connect, build friendships, and celebrate diversity.
This event aimed to create a safe and inclusive space where people with diverse abilities could come together, share their stories, and foster mutual understanding. Through panel discussions, interactive workshops, and inspiring keynote speeches, we highlighted the importance of inclusion and raised awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
Hum Honge Kamyab Foundation hosted a heartfelt 5-day webinar series titled ‘Winners on Wheelchair’, where we celebrated the extraordinary journeys of five remarkable individuals who use wheelchairs. Each session was marked by sharing inspiring stories of resilience, innovation, and impact.
A Tribute to Courage and Change
One of our honored speakers was Padma Shri Kanubhai Hasmukhbhai Tailor, a dedicated social activist and founder of the Disabled Welfare Trust of India. Despite living with polio since childhood, Kanubhai has tirelessly worked for the rights of people with disabilities. His unwavering commitment, including an 11-day fast to secure travel benefits for the specially-abled, earned him one of India’s highest civilian honors.
Strength in Every Step
Hum Honge Kamyab Foundation was proud to host Ms. Ankita Sharma, motivational speaker and runner-up of Miss Wheelchair India 2017–18. At just 26, Ankita has turned personal adversity into a source of strength and inspiration. After becoming a paraplegic in Class X, she chose not to be defined by her disability.
Instead, she embraced life with positivity, curiosity, and courage. Known for her vibrant spirit and love for exploration, Ankita reminds us all with her powerful words: “Don’t die before your death.” Her journey is a shining example of resilience and joy in the face of challenges.
Challenging Limits with Passion
Ms. Sakshi Chauhan, an international wheelchair basketball player and a rising motivational speaker is known as the “one-legged flying girl”, a fearless athlete who continues to break barriers in sports. From marathon running to excelling in javelin and shot put, her determination knows no bounds. A proud Garhwali, Sakshi also expresses her spirit through poetry and music, touching hearts with her words and voice. Her story is a celebration of strength, creativity, and the unstoppable will to rise.
